Q&A Friday – Has There Been an Increase in Applicants During COVID?

Dave Soltau - January 1, 2021 - 0 comments

Hi, How’s it’s goin’ everybody? DaveTheNurse here to answer the questions you want answers for! Thanks for sending them in!

Today’s question is “Have you noticed an increase in applicants during COVID?”

Absolutely YES, is the answer. Right now, anything healthcare-related is bulletproof – there are not enough nurses, therapists, caregivers, and even doctors to provide care for those in need. With the coming silver tsunami of the graying population, experts say there will be a predicted shortage of qualified medical professionals over the next 20 years.

I expect the next 10 years will be interesting when you need medical care. You better know someone in scrubs in the next 10-15 years, as more people will require healthcare needs than those professionals who will be available.

And if you’re looking for work now, it’s a good time to turn to the medical profession. Get in with caregiving – become a CNA. Starting there may be the easiest way into the profession.
