What is Aging in Place and How is it Important for Seniors?

Dave Soltau - April 30, 2021 - 0 comments

Today is Q&A Friday, and today’s question for the aspiring home healthcare entrepreneurs out there is

“What is ‘Aging in Place’, and how important is it for our seniors?”

Great question!

For senior adults, there comes a time in their lives when they realize they can no longer take care of themselves, and they know it, then it’s time to figure out the next steps. Where do you go? Do you go to an independent living facility? A nursing home? Or do you stay at home?

Aging in place means just that – getting older and being cared for gracefully in the home you’ve lived in and enjoyed all these years. If a senior adult doesn’t have any immediate family around to provide care, then a caregiver, nurse, or errand runner may be needed to help the senior adult.

That’s where the business opportunity is for young home healthcare entrepreneurs. Start businesses to provide caregivers to these seniors, to help them get cleaned up, help them with shopping, cooking food, running errands, and even companionship. It’s an amazing home healthcare opportunity to meet that need of senior adults living on their own.
