Hi, Happy Friday. It’s DaveTheNurse here with a Friday Q&A for you. This question comes from a reader who asks: “I am brand new to home health and I don’t have any clients yet. What do I do first? Do I look for clients, or do I look for employees?”
Great question! I say if you are starting a home healthcare business, look for a client first because you can always be the caregiver or the provider for that service.
Remember you are a business owner, which means you’re going to have to figure out how to staff an opportunity. If you start hiring people first without a place to put them, I promise you they will be gracious, you will spend the money to get started, but here’s the truth – they may not be hanging around with you, they may not be reliable.
